My go-to-marketing podcasts
Marketing, growth, product: the pods I keep coming back to
Where do you go to learn; to get that fresh dose of insight or inspiration?
For me, it’s usually one of two places: books or, more recently, podcasts.
I love podcasts because I can take them in during my thinking time; on the commute, while travelling, or in those in-between moments.
They create space for deeper reflection, which is probably why the format feels so valuable, and why it’s taken off more broadly.
So this week, I’m sharing four shows I come back to regularly. Each is geared toward people working in or around marketing, product, and growth.
And below is a snapshot of some standout episodes.
They feature some of the best minds in the business, so I’d highly recommend you give them a listen.
From the Uncensored CMO: Hiroki Asai on keeping things simple
In a recent episode, Hiroki Asai (CMO at Airbnb) shared a reminder that landed hard for me: you are not the most important person in your customer’s life. He talked about how crucial it is to respect people’s time, attention, and context, and how easily marketers forget that.
“You are very lucky to get their time... they’re probably half paying attention... Just keep it really simple and really respect the customer’s time.”

From Lenny’s Podcast: Krithika Shankarraman on diagnosing growth problems
This episode with Krithika Shankarraman (ex-Stripe and OpenAI) stuck with me for its clarity on something that often feels murky: how to approach a growth challenge.
Rather than jumping straight to hiring for “demand gen” or “content,” Krithika lays out a simple but powerful framework:
Diagnose the actual problem
Analyse your competitors
Take a different path
Test your ideas
It’s a tidy little D-A-T-T framework: useful not just for marketers, but for anyone thinking about how to grow in a smarter, more strategic way.

From Marketing Against the Grain: Kieran Flanagan on redefining ICP with AI
Kieran Flanagan (SVP Marketing at HubSpot) walked through what the ChatGPT–HubSpot integration now makes possible; and it’s honestly mind-blowing 🤯.
He shared how refining your Ideal Customer Profile used to be a manual, research-heavy task (days and weeks of work). Now?
“Analyse my top 50 closed-won deals and identify common firmographics, behaviours, then recommend a refined ICP and suggest segments for targeting.”
That’s not just slick automation, it’s a shift in how high-growth teams can scale insight and precision in real time.
And he doesn’t stop at buyer targeting ...
“If you're running a sales team, you want to be very cognizant of your deals at risk. What I did was reviewed my open deals in HubSpot, identified the ones at risk based upon the stage duration, last activity and buyer engagements. Then I say, recommend specific next steps or messaging to re-engage each account.”
If you are using HubSpot and scaling, this episode is beyond essential.

From Unsolicited Feedback: Brian Balfour on what comes after SEO
In a recent episode, Brian Balfour (CEO at Reforge) unpacked some of the ripple effects of AI on how content is created, distributed, and valued online.
What stood out was his critique of the traditional SEO ecosystem—where original ideas often get lost in a race to optimise, repackage, and rank.
He posed an open question: what would it take for AI models to recognise and reward originality?
In a landscape shaped by content volume and optimisation tactics, this feels like a deeply relevant challenge, especially for those of us trying to do genuinely creative or strategic work.
He also introduced model memory as a new frontier for targeting: AI that learns not just where you go, but what you like, how you think, and how you want to be spoken to.
“I think this concept of model memory might be the best advertising targeting data that exists in the world over time.”
